I found a book of quotes fantastic to practice the essays. I can't remember which book I used but it had the quotes in topic order so you could pretty much sit down, open the book, read 5 quotes and practice from there. Probably cheaper than paying for study guides and it gives you a lot more practice.

Ummm... I guess that would be helpful information if only you could remember the name of the book to which you refer!! ![[image]](http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/6055/tonguesmiley8855.gif)
For those looking for inspiration, there is always the option of simply flipping through a dictionary of quotations at random. Cheap and easy.

It was a dictionary of quotations. Sorry, should have said that. It may have been Webster's but not sure because I left the book behind in Japan. I think if you go to the section where they sell dictionaries you should be able to find a good one. Look for the one's that have them in topic order (or do they all come like that? I've only ever used this one).

Nah, some (most?) of them are sorted according to author, not topic.

May I ask out of curiosity where do the quotes come from? I know they are from the old forum but are they something someone created themselves? (I.e. look up a theme on google and get a bunch of quotes related to it and put them all together?) If that is the case, might I say an excellent job to whoever put all this together!
Or where they from somewhere else like a prep course for example? I haven't noticed them anywhere else (from memory) but well I don't have every single prep course!
Oh and I am not sure why but I seem to like/prefer the gamsat style quotes rather than the mcat ones. Both styles are probably the same, but the fact that the gamsat style ones seem "real" (i.e. said by someone in the past, surrounded by 4 other quotes with the same theme) seem easier to write something about. Mcat quotes are all on their own and seem to be just quotes but with no historical backing (they of course can be said by someone in the past, just that there is no acknowledgment here)
Anyway I suppose if I can leave a message for future gamsat takers (haha like I am a gamsat veteran or something!): Do all the gamsat style questions first!! When you have exhausted that list and any from the prep materials and so forth, THEN attempt the mcat style questions... By then you would have written so much that any random sentence you see on the web is essay material!! (speaking of which I think I need a break)
Rock ON!

I'm stuck in a training room and this is the motivation poster on the wall. I prefer Barney's Awesome Poster,

Now that's a whakatauki to live by if I ever saw one.
